Optimus Summit and the Bett Show

Our Trust Leader Matthew Crawford was representing Embark Federation as a guest Keynote Speaker at the Optimus Conference on Growing and Developing a Trust. Mr Crawford was sharing context from our trust and talking about how Embark Federation live out our key core beliefs and values throughout our schools and communities.

Mr Crawford also took part in a panel discussion at this year’s Bett show where he was discussing mental health and wellbeing in schools and the importance of not having a one size fits all model and to meet every child and their needs at their starting point. Matthew was sharing the stage with Gemma Oaten, an actress well known for her role in Emmerdale who has suffered and overcome an eating disorder of 13 years and who now runs a charity called Seed which supports families and people who are suffering with eating disorders of any kind. They were also joined by Jack Keeler MBE who worked for the Met Police before deciding to volunteer as a governor at his local primary school where he has stayed in the role for over 35 years which is an amazing achievement. The panel was chaired by Kelly Hannaghan from Mind Work Matters who is an ambassador for mental health and wellbeing for young people and adults. “It is such a privilege to share the stage with this amazing panel and talk about such an important topic” said Matthew Crawford.
