Please see below a press release following our day with Hot House:
Over 100 children from Bondholder Embark Federation, came together earlier this month to work with the inspirational Jon Eno and his team from Hot House Music. It was an amazing day and one our children will remember for a long time.
Throughout the day long workshop, children learnt how to work as a team and make new friends whilst, making wonderful music. Pupils were given the opportunity to play: drums, guitar, percussion, keyboards, the flute, clarinet and keyboards. All of which was delivered by eight sensational staff members from the Derby Hot House School. The enthusiasm and energy was appreciated by everyone involved.
This is only the beginning of their partnership together. Grants have been submitted to continue this work and there is commitment on both sides to continue to inspire children for the long term. Supplementing the music lessons for Embark pupils, we are also looking at the possibility of a staff choir and further opportunities for their children to form an Embark band and also a series of musical holiday clubs.
We are delighted to be working with Hot House as we believe their core values and company ethos resonate with our own and help promote excellence and inclusivity to all.
We are also delighted to announce a few new opportunities for young people at Embark Federation:
A new Hot Shots Band at Kilburn Junior School
A new recorder wider opportunities class session at Aldercar Infants School
A new recorder wider opportunities class session at Horsely Woodhouse Primary School
A new after school Ukulele club for pupils at Kilburn Junior School
Brass Lessons for pupils at Kilburn Junior School
Jonathan Eno BEM said after the day “Embark Federation is an exceptionally intuitive MAT and their principles of: family, integrity, teamwork and success resonates well with our own core beliefs. I hope that we will be able to continue the strategic alignment of HHMusicDerby with Embark Federation for years to come, always with the focus of changing lives through inspirational youth music. I hope that there will be hundreds of young pupils from the Embark Federation joining our Hot House family and getting the opportunity to perform in front of tens of thousands of people like our amazing saxophonix band. I’d like to thank Matt Crawford for helping make this journey possible. You are doing a marvellous job at enriching young peoples lives!”
Matthew Crawford, Chief Executive of Embark said “We are delighted to be working with Hot House and for them to be providing inspirational music tuition for our children. We understand the importance of the Arts in the development of our children and couldn’t ask for a better partnership with our fellow bondholder. We are so grateful to Jon and the team and can’t wait to see what the future holds for our children. Around 300 staff help to educate 2000 pupils across 7 schools at Embark and our federation is growing. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with Rosie and find out more.”
