Embark Federation Hosts Inspirational Swimming Masterclass with Olympic Champion Adam Peaty

Embark Federation was proud to host a highly successful Swimming Masterclass, welcoming 45 young people from across its schools for a memorable and inspiring sporting experience, supported by a special visit from Olympic gold medalist and world record holder Adam Peaty OBE.

Held at Repton School Sports Centre, the event was open to young people from all Embark schools who are competent swimmers. Designed to inspire, challenge and celebrate participation, the masterclass offered a unique opportunity for young people to experience elite level coaching in a professional sporting environment.

The morning began with an engaging Q&A session with Adam Peaty, where young people asked thoughtful questions about his training regime, the challenges he has overcome, and how his swimming journey began. Adam’s openness, honesty and encouragement provided powerful insight into the dedication, resilience and mindset required to perform at the highest level.

Young people then took part in a swimming masterclass, delivered by the outstanding coaching team at Repton School. The session focused on technique and skill development, with coaches providing expert guidance and encouragement throughout. Their support and enthusiasm created a positive and motivating atmosphere for all involved.

The morning concluded with a series   of races, giving every participant the opportunity to compete. It was fantastic to see young people from across our schools challenging themselves, supporting one another and forming new friendships along the way. Every participant took part, demonstrating determination, sportsmanship and enthusiasm.

The event strongly reflected Embark Federation’s core values of Family, Integrity, Teamwork and Success, with young people encouraging one another and embracing the experience with confidence and positivity.

Matthew Crawford, Trust Leader of Embark Federation, said:
“Days like today perfectly capture what Embark is all about. Providing our children and young people with opportunities that inspire, challenge and build confidence is incredibly important to us. Seeing them learn from world class athletes, support one another and take pride in their achievements was truly special. We are immensely proud of everyone who took part.”

Embark Federation extends its thanks to Repton School for the use of their excellent facilities, as well as to the coaching staff and lifeguards who ensured the event ran safely and smoothly. Sincere thanks also go to Dean Jackson MBE from HUUB, who generously provided every participant with a swim bag containing a HUUB swim cap and goggles, a thoughtful and much appreciated gesture.

We would also like to thank the Embark team who organised the event, Laura Baddiley, Rosie McLaughlin and Paul Scaife, along with school staff who supported on the day, and of course Adam Peaty and our partners at Repton School for making this experience so memorable.

It was a truly wonderful and inspirational day for the young people of Embark Federation. They left tired but smiling, proud of their achievements and inspired by what they had experienced, a powerful example of the enriching opportunities Embark Federation strives to provide.
