This World Book Day, Embark brought the magic of storytelling, drama, and performance to young people across Derbyshire with a series of dynamic workshops at Repton School, Aldercar High School, and Buxton Community School.
The workshops gave students the opportunity to explore dance, drama, and singing, led by accomplished professionals. West End star Chloe Hopcroft inspired students with her storytelling and performance expertise, while Bradley Judge and Lillie-Pearl Wildman guided participants through engaging and interactive performing arts activities.
A highlight of the workshops was the chance for students to work collaboratively in groups, mixing with peers from across the Embark Federation. Together, they devised their own original pieces of acting, bringing creativity and imagination to life. One of the most rewarding aspects of the sessions was seeing young people form friendships with peers they might not otherwise have met, fostering connection and teamwork along side their artistic development.
The workshops were designed to encourage creativity, boost confidence, and help students experience the joy of performing in a supportive and inclusive environment. From acting out scenes based upon the Mr Men book characters to exploring movement and song, participants were fully immersed in the world of performance.
Feedback from both students and teachers was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on how inspiring and enjoyable it was to work alongside such talented performers.
Embark continues to be proud of its commitment to delivering innovative opportunities that combine the arts, education, and personal development for young people across the region.
